Welcome to Rubin Winery! 

Our family winery is one of the hidden gems of Somogy County and the Balatonboglár Wine Region. From the very beginning, we have followed organic viticulture and winemaking practices, cultivating our vineyards and producing our wines in a sustainable way. Our organic farming is strictly controlled and certified by Biokontroll Hungária. On our nearly 7-hectare estate, grapes are grown with limited yield per vine and processed in our own cellar, built by ourselves. 

The winery is led by organic winemaker Tamás Subosits, who, together with his family and friends, works passionately to share the fruits of their dedication with as many guests as possible. Visit us and become part of this experience. Taste our wines and refresh yourself under the shade of the vines with our coffees and non-alcoholic, grape-based cocktails. The experience is complemented by a selection of wine snacks and traditional Hungarian hot dishes. 

From our wine terrace, you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of Badacsony—even together with your four-legged companion—and take a relaxing break during your cycling tour. We also host team-building events, harvest programmes and family gatherings. The surrounding vineyard hills offer excellent opportunities for hiking and cycling. You can explore the Hamvas Béla Wine Route, partly established by our winery, where Béla Hamvas wrote The Philosophy of Wine, also available for purchase here in English and French. Along the route, visitors can reflect on Hamvas’s quotes while enjoying the breathtaking panorama of the northern shore’s volcanic hills.

Located in Salföld, one of the most beautiful villages of the Káli Basin, this former sand quarry—no longer in use—has been transformed into a unique cultural venue. 

Here, we organise events that showcase the local artistic scene and the creative industries, bringing together artists, makers and creative communities in an abandoned industrial setting embraced by nature. Our aim is to present and promote the work and values of local creators, offering visitors the opportunity to discover their craft in an inspiring environment. In the long term, the Bánya is envisioned as a monumental open-air installation, becoming home to land art projects in the coming years. Through this vision and a wide range of cultural initiatives, the project has also joined the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture programme. 

Art courses, concerts, applied arts demonstrations and workshops, theatre performances, literary evenings and community events will follow one another in the sandy landscape of the quarry—creating immersive experiences for both children and adults, who can actively engage with and experience art firsthand.

The exotic atmosphere of the Mala Garden conjures up modern far-eastern luxury relaxation on the shores of Lake Balaton. 

The rooms and suites with stunning views and unique design and the exclusive wellness department, all contribute to physical and mental rejuvenation. The two waterfront restaurants offer Hungarian, Asian, and Mediterranean Italian dishes made from seasonal ingredients as a culinary experience.

Veszprémi Bolhapiac (Veszprém Flea Market) is a lively and authentic marketplace where visitors can experience the atmosphere of traditional Hungarian flea markets. 

Held regularly in Veszprém, it attracts both locals and visitors looking for unique finds, nostalgic items, and hidden treasures. The market is often referred to locally as the “Lengyel piac” (Polish market) and takes place mainly on Sunday mornings along the Házgyári út area, where a bustling crowd gathers to browse and trade a wide variety of goods. Stalls offer everything from vintage clothing and books to household items, antiques, and curiosities. Bargaining is part of the experience, and with a bit of luck, visitors can discover truly unique pieces at affordable prices. Beyond shopping, the flea market is also a social hub, where people meet, chat, and enjoy the vibrant, slightly chaotic charm that defines this type of market. It is an ideal program for a relaxed Sunday morning, combining treasure hunting with local culture.

Set in one of the most scenic and quiet areas of Veszprém, close to a one-hectare park yet within easy reach of the city centre, Völgyikút House welcomes guests seeking relaxation, recreation, and renewal. 

The building complex, designed by architects Zsófia Csomay and György Nagy, was awarded the prestigious Pro Architectura Prize, reflecting its outstanding architectural quality. Part of the complex is a family-style guesthouse that offers a comfortable and intimate accommodation experience. One of the rooms is fully accessible, ensuring convenient use for guests with reduced mobility. Combining thoughtful design with a calm, green environment, Völgyikút Ház provides an ideal setting for both physical and mental refreshment, whether for a short stay or a longer visit in Veszprém.

ABOUT US 

The story began with a single press house, followed by seven more, and today the Casa Christa estate stretches across 45,000 square meters on Kis Gella Hill above Balatonszőlős, near Pécsely and Vászoly. 

The original buildings have been renovated in a Tuscan style, which defines the character of the entire estate. The setting is further enhanced by panoramic views and nearly 2,000 almond trees, creating a distinctive and atmospheric environment. 

The estate welcomes groups of friends, couples, families, as well as those seeking quiet relaxation on their own. The houses are positioned at a distance from each other to ensure privacy, while still allowing guests traveling together to plan shared activities and experiences. Casa Christa is easily accessible by car, with Balatonfüred and Tihany just a short drive away, yet it remains peacefully removed from the bustle of typical tourist centers. The estate is also an ideal venue for corporate retreats, workshops, and small-scale events.

For nearly four decades, Gyukli Winery has been crafting high-quality wines that reflect the unique character of the Balaton region. 

Rooted in a deep respect for nature, the winery follows a philosophy that prioritises minimal intervention both in the vineyard and in the cellar, working in harmony with natural processes wherever possible. As dedicated winegrowers, the Gyukli family believes that nature is inherently pure. This approach is reflected in their efforts to avoid the use of chemicals, focusing instead on maintaining the long-term health of their vineyards. Special attention is given to selecting grape varieties that are best suited to the local terroir, ensuring both quality and sustainability. At the same time, conscious steps are taken to reduce the ecological footprint of their operations. Bitang Burger is a laid-back, quality-focused burger place where simplicity and great ingredients take centre stage. The philosophy is clear: smoke, meat, no fuss. 

If you value high-quality ingredients and prefer your burgers without raw vegetables and overpowering mustard, this is the place for you. The menu is built around carefully selected meats and freshly prepared burgers, offering a straightforward yet bold flavour experience. The atmosphere is casual and energetic, combining street food culture with a touch of rock and roll attitude. 

Guests are welcomed with freshly tapped craft beers, wines from local producers, and a relaxed vibe that makes it an ideal stop during a Balaton trip—whether for a quick bite or a longer, easy-going meal with friends.

Everyone who has ever been to Balatonfüred must have visited the Tagore promenade. It is a very pleasant place to watch Lake Balaton, to eat and drink at a festival, to take a stroll or ride a bicycle. 

The pleasant atmosphere is also due to the majestic trees: in 1926, the Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore, who was recovering in the local hospital for cardiology, started the tradition of planting trees here, followed later by many other celebrities.

Set within the atmospheric Baroque Castle District, Veszprémi Várgaléria – Dubniczay-palota (Castle Gallery of Veszprém – Dubniczay Palace) is part of the Művészetek Háza Veszprém (House of Arts Veszprém), a contemporary art centre founded in 1993. 

Today, the institution operates across several historic buildings, forming one of the city’s most important cultural hubs. The galleries present a dynamic programme of contemporary art exhibitions throughout the year, alongside thematic and collection-based displays. With multiple exhibition spaces—including the Modern Gallery (Vass László Collection), Csikász Gallery, Várgaléria, Dubniczay Palace, and Magtár—the centre showcases both Hungarian and international artists, offering insight into current artistic trends and ideas.

The Dubniczay Palace itself adds a unique historical dimension to the experience. Its cellar houses the Tegularium, a distinctive exhibition of engraved, monogrammed, and heraldic bricks, as well as rare roof tiles. Beyond visual arts, the institution regularly hosts literary events, conferences, festivals, and educational programmes, creating a lively meeting point for art, culture, and community. 

Surrounded by the inspiring setting of the castle, near the Castle Gate and the Firewatch Tower, the gallery complex blends heritage with innovation, making it a key destination for visitors interested in contemporary culture.

Anna Grand Hotel is a historic luxury hotel located in the centre of Balatonfüred, near the northern shore of Lake Balaton. The hotel combines 18th-century architectural elegance with modern comfort, making it one of the most iconic buildings of the town. 

The origins of the building date back to 1748, when the Benedictine Abbey of Tihany built a guesthouse to accommodate visitors who came to Balatonfüred for its famous mineral springs and spa culture. Over the centuries the building expanded and gradually became an important social and cultural meeting place in the town. 

The hotel is also closely connected to the Anna Ball, one of Hungary’s most famous social events. The tradition started in 1825 and the elegant ballroom of the building has long served as a venue for the event, which historically attracted aristocrats, artists, and politicians. 

Today the renovated five-star hotel offers stylish rooms, restaurants, a wellness and spa area, and event spaces while preserving the historical atmosphere of the original building. Its central location near the Balaton promenade makes it a popular destination for visitors exploring the cultural heritage and spa traditions of Balatonfüred.
