Castle Gallery of Veszprém – Dubniczay Palace

Set within the atmospheric Baroque Castle District, Veszprémi Várgaléria – Dubniczay-palota (Castle Gallery of Veszprém – Dubniczay Palace) is part of the Művészetek Háza Veszprém (House of Arts Veszprém), a contemporary art centre founded in 1993. 

Today, the institution operates across several historic buildings, forming one of the city’s most important cultural hubs. The galleries present a dynamic programme of contemporary art exhibitions throughout the year, alongside thematic and collection-based displays. With multiple exhibition spaces—including the Modern Gallery (Vass László Collection), Csikász Gallery, Várgaléria, Dubniczay Palace, and Magtár—the centre showcases both Hungarian and international artists, offering insight into current artistic trends and ideas.

The Dubniczay Palace itself adds a unique historical dimension to the experience. Its cellar houses the Tegularium, a distinctive exhibition of engraved, monogrammed, and heraldic bricks, as well as rare roof tiles. Beyond visual arts, the institution regularly hosts literary events, conferences, festivals, and educational programmes, creating a lively meeting point for art, culture, and community.
