Nine Days of Autumn Fun in Zalakaros

Looking for a family-friendly autumn event near Lake Balaton? TökJó Zalakaros brings nine days of seasonal celebrations to Karos Korzó, with activities ranging from creative workshops and traditional food experiences to live music and Halloween entertainment.

The festival begins with a street party on 23 October, followed by a witch-themed Saturday and a magical Lantern Night featuring a lantern parade and fire-juggling performance.

Pumpkins, Local Flavours and Halloween

Each day brings something different, including pumpkin-themed activities, a giant bubble show, chestnut specialities and family entertainment.

Visitors can also discover dödölle, a traditional potato-based dish from western Hungary, during a special food-themed day.

The final weekend turns up the Halloween atmosphere with pumpkin carving, games, concerts and spooky attractions, including the Park of Frights.

• 24 October (Saturday): Witches' Saturday with themed activities and music by De Luxe Party Music.

• 25 October (Sunday): Lantern Night, lantern parade and fire-juggling show.

• 27 October (Tuesday): Chestnut Day, seasonal treats and creative activities.

• 28 October (Wednesday): Addams Family and Wednesday-themed activities.

• 29 October (Thursday): Dödölle Day, celebrating a traditional local dish.

• 30 October (Friday): Halloween Pre-Party with the band Strong.

• 31 October (Saturday): Halloween Party featuring Hollywood Rose, a Guns N' Roses tribute band.
