Szigliget Pike-Perch Festival 2026

A Lakeside Celebration of Local Flavours
Autumn is a wonderful time to experience Lake Balaton's food traditions, and the annual Szigliget Pike-Perch Festival brings them together on the lakeshore.
The star of the festival is pike-perch, known locally as süllő, a prized freshwater fish often served crispy and freshly fried. Visitors can also sample other fish specialities, traditional Hungarian dishes and wines from local producers.
Held at Szigliget Beach, the festival combines food stalls, artisan products and beautiful autumn views of Lake Balaton.
Live Music and Local Traditions
The two-day event also features live music, entertainment and traditional Hungarian folk dancing.
Friday's programme includes accordion music, live performances by Groove Colours and an evening DJ set. On Saturday, visitors can enjoy further concerts and a performance by the Badacsony-Tördemic Folk Dance Ensemble.
It's a great opportunity to experience local culture alongside one of the region's best-loved culinary traditions.
