Festetics Palace, Keszthely

Discover nearly 1,000 years of history at the Benedictine Abbey of Tihany, one of Lake Balaton’s most iconic landmarks. Founded in 1055 by King Andrew I, the abbey still stands above the lake as home to an active Benedictine monastic community.

Veszprém Castle District, Veszprém
Walk through centuries of Hungarian history in Veszprém’s Castle District, where medieval foundations, Baroque buildings and religious heritage come together on Castle Hill. Rather than a traditional fortress, the castle is an entire historic quarter overlooking the city and the surrounding Bakony Hills.
Pass through Heroes’ Gate and explore landmarks including St. Michael’s Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, Gizella Chapel and St. George’s Chapel.
