In colder winters, parts of the lake freeze, creating safe, designated areas where you can skate on natural ice. Sunshine, still water, and panoramic views make it a truly special experience. Where to go: Balatonföldvár, Balatonfenyves, Zamárdi, near the Tihany ferry, Balatongyörök, and Vonyarcvashegy. · Balaton Supermarathon Training Runs Shorter lakeside runs leading up to the March four-day running festival

Hévíz Buffalo Duathlon – Winter Challenge by Water and Land A unique outdoor competition held annually in Hévíz, combining 9.9 km of rowing and 11.5 km of running across the winter landscape. Participants can enter solo or in teams. Locations: Hévíz stream, Véderdő forest, and the area around the thermal lake This is a great choice for anyone looking for an active, nature-based winter challenge.

Skiing in Eplény – Just 30 Minutes from Lake Balaton
