Located deep in the forests of the Zselic region, far from urban light pollution, the Zselici Star Park Observatory offers one of the best stargazing experiences in Hungary.

The area is part of an internationally recognised Dark Sky Park, where the night sky reveals details that are rarely visible elsewhere with the naked eye. The modern visitor centre combines science and nature in an engaging way. Inside, visitors can explore interactive exhibitions, a planetarium, and a telescope dome, while learning about astronomy, the surrounding landscape and local wildlife. The observatory is equipped with professional telescopes, allowing observation of the Moon, planets and even distant galaxies. The park itself is designed as a complex experience: a 25-metre-high lookout tower, forest trails and several information points guide visitors through both the natural environment and the universe above. From the top of the tower, a panoramic view opens across the Zselic hills, and on clear days even the distant ranges of the Balaton Uplands and Mecsek can be seen. Regular daytime and night-time programs, including guided stargazing tours and telescope demonstrations, make the observatory an ideal destination for families, school groups and curious travellers alike.

Whether visiting for science, nature or a unique night under the stars, the Zselici Star Park delivers an unforgettable experience.
