Located in the heart of Balatonfüred, surrounded by shady plane trees, Vaszary Galéria (Vaszary Gallery) is one of the most prominent cultural venues in the Lake Balaton region.
Housed in the elegant Vaszary Villa, a Neo-Renaissance building from the second half of the 19th century, the gallery reflects both historical charm and artistic sophistication. The villa was commissioned by Kolos Vaszary, Archabbot of Pannonhalma and later a cardinal, who sought peace and inspiration by the lakeside. Today, the protected historic building hosts a dynamic programme of temporary and permanent exhibitions, along with literary events and concerts. The gallery regularly showcases works by Hungarian and international artists, including pieces by János Vaszary, one of the most influential Hungarian painters of the 20th century.
Set within the elegant park of the Balatonfüred Cultural Quarter, the gallery is surrounded by cafés, exhibition spaces, and historic buildings, creating an intimate yet vibrant cultural atmosphere. Vaszary Galéria is not only an exhibition venue but also a meeting point of art, history, and the distinctive spirit of Lake Balaton.
