Standing at the border of Zalamerenye and Zalakaros, Pálos Malom (Pauline Mill) is a restored historic watermill with origins dating back to the 15th century.
It was originally owned by the Pauline monastery of Örményes, later passed to the Archbishop of Veszprém after the dissolution of the order, and became private property from 1888. The mill remained in operation until 1960, after which it gradually fell into disrepair. Its complete restoration was finished in August 2015, carefully returning the building to its 1903 condition. Today, the mill is fully operational again, featuring two overshot water wheels, a roller mill system, and traditional millstones. Visitors can observe the characteristic rhythm of flour production and explore exhibits of original tools and documents displayed on the walls.
As a privately owned site, the mill can be visited by prior arrangement. Reaching it involves a short detour from the main road, first along an asphalt road and then via a dirt track, adding to the authentic rural experience.
