Tucked beneath the Firewatch Tower in the historic Castle District, Veszprémi Pantheon (Pantheon of Veszprém) is a distinctive memorial space dedicated to the city’s most influential figures.

Established in 1996, the Pantheon continues to expand: each year, new commemorative plaques are added to the wall of the rondella, honouring individuals who have made a lasting contribution to the cultural and civic life of Veszprém. Rather than a traditional monument, it functions as a living memory site, where visitors can reflect on the achievements of artists, public figures, and local personalities who helped shape the identity of the city. Its intimate setting and proximity to one of Veszprém’s most iconic landmarks create a meaningful connection between past and present. A brief stop here during a walk through the Castle District offers a quiet, thought-provoking experience.
