The Experience Centre consists of two main units: the Nature House Visitor Centre and the Festetics Imre Wildlife Park with a traditional rural yard, offering a rich and interactive insight into the natural and cultural heritage of the region.

Nature House Visitor Centre

Discover nature without even stepping outside. Despite the apparent contradiction, this modern visitor centre provides an engaging experience for all ages, introducing the wildlife of the Keszthely Mountains through interactive and immersive tools. Visitors can explore the natural world with VR experiences that take them back to medieval times, as well as AR features such as animal-themed interactive activities. Exhibits include small mammals, fungi, insects, trees and shrubs, alongside detailed terrain models—presented in both traditional and digital formats.

Festetics Imre Wildlife Park & Rural Yard

Named after Festetics Imre, one of the early pioneers of genetics, the wildlife park reflects a long-standing family tradition of scientific curiosity. While his brother founded the famous Georgikon agricultural school, Imre focused on sheep breeding and made observations that anticipated the basic principles of genetics—he was among the first to use the term itself. The park showcases native Hungarian animal species in a natural environment, allowing visitors to gain close, authentic experiences with wildlife. In the “rural yard”, guests can also encounter traditional domestic animals, offering a glimpse into the agricultural life of the past. For cyclists, the centre provides a BalatonBike365 service package (tool kit, tyre levers, chain lubricant and pump), available free of charge in case of unexpected technical issues. Visitors with tickets can also benefit from luggage storage and free phone charging.
