"My connection with Paloznak was no coincidence. A deep-rooted attachment from childhood, my background in sailing, and a strong commitment to winemaking all led me – despite living in Budapest – to eventually put down roots here, in the Balaton Uplands. After a long search, I discovered the Hajnóczy vineyard near the village of Paloznak, where the house was built that has since become my second home. Years of dedicated work followed. What was still a bold dream until 2007 has now become reality. Although only a few years have passed since the first harvest in 2009, we have come a long way. I am proud that increasingly refined wines are being crafted in the cellar, and that the results of our work are now enjoyed not only by our family, but by a growing community of wine lovers in more and more places. The wines of the Homola Winery are the result of a shared creative process with Attila Homonna, the head winemaker of the estate. It is a collaboration filled with both passion and challenges. We both believe in achieving a 100% result and do not compromise." - Szabolcs Homola
