Arboretum Our arboretum in Badacsonyörs is not simply one among many. It is not only a collection of unique cedars and cypresses, but also the story of our family—an achievement made possible with God’s help through the dedication and perseverance of several generations.
Folly – One Garden, One Family
Discover the 120-year history of the Folly family and the arboretum! The arboretum is open all year round, allowing visitors to admire its special trees and plants in every season. After a relaxing walk in the garden, guests can enjoy culinary specialties in the restaurant, accompanied by Folly wines, syrups, or teas. The garden is open daily from 10:00, offering coffee and pastries, while hot dishes are available from 11:00.
Gastronomy
Our restaurant’s seasonal menu is based on local ingredients and brings the flavors of the region closer to visitors. Our culinary philosophy focuses on natural, clean tastes, combining the traditions of the Balaton Uplands with the creativity of modern gastronomy. The panoramic terrace not only enhances the view but also makes the dining experience truly memorable. Please note that the restaurant cannot be visited separately; an entrance ticket to the arboretum is required.
Our winery’s carefully crafted wines reflect the unique character of Badacsony. Four generations of winemaking experience are present in every bottle. Our selection includes fresh, fruity white wines as well as aged, complex varieties—each with a distinctive character in the Folly style. During our guided wine tastings, guests gain insight not only into our wines but also into the family’s history, the philosophy of the winery, and local grape varieties. The stunning panorama of Lake Balaton makes every sip even more memorable.
