House of Arts Veszprém – The Home of Art and Culture The House of Arts Veszprém, a contemporary art centre, was established in 1993. Today, it welcomes visitors of all ages in eight historic buildings located in the Baroque Castle District of Veszprém. 

The institution functions as both an artistic and intellectual centre, while also serving as a significant tourist attraction. It is situated near the Castle Gate and the Fire Tower, where the spirit of the place and the Baroque surroundings provide inspiration for artists, visitors, and staff alike. Our aim is to present the latest trends in art in Veszprém, with a conscious focus on the values of quality, proportion, and excellence. We operate five exhibition venues: the Modern Gallery – László Vass Collection, Csikász Gallery, Dubniczay Palace, Castle Gallery, and Magtár. Throughout the year, all venues present works by contemporary artists, and every two years we organise the Veszprém Spring Exhibition. Visitors can also explore permanent collection exhibitions in our galleries. At the time of the institution’s founding, the City Fine Arts Creative Circle was already active, which in 1999 adopted the name WIM (Veszprém Visual Workshop). In 1993, we established the Vár Ucca Seventeen Publishing House, which in 2000 evolved into the Vár Ucca Workshop journal and book publisher. In the cellar of Dubniczay Palace, the Tegularium—our brick collection—is on display, presenting engraved, monogrammed, and coat-of-arms bricks, as well as unique roof tiles. 

Our institution maintains strong relationships with international galleries, cultural institutions across Hungary, and various civil organisations. In addition to presenting our collections, we organise temporary exhibitions, academic conferences, and festivals. Our literary events create opportunities for audiences to meet contemporary works and authors. Through art education programmes, we provide engaging encounters with modern and contemporary art. Thanks to our family-friendly developments, we are committed to ensuring access to culture for multiple generations, enabling different age groups to participate simultaneously in our programmes and events.
