Balaton Ballooning offers a unique hot air balloon experience above the western part of Lake Balaton, with departures near Hévíz and Keszthely.
During the flight, participants can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Balaton, Lake Hévíz, the wetlands of Kis-Balaton, as well as the volcanic hills of the Balaton Uplands and the rolling landscapes of Zala County. Flights typically take place in the late afternoon and end around sunset, providing especially scenic light conditions.
The full program lasts approximately 3 hours, including transfer, safety briefing, and preparation of the balloon, while the actual flight takes about 1 hour at altitudes of up to 1000–1500 meters. After landing, guests are welcomed with a traditional champagne toast and a ceremonial “initiation,” along with a commemorative certificate. The experience is not considered an extreme sport, but it does require basic physical fitness and is dependent on weather conditions.
