Modern Art Gallery

Balatonfüred Modern Art Gallery (MOMŰ – Modern Műtár) is a contemporary exhibition space located in the historic Reform Era district of Balatonfüred. Opened in 2023 as part of the Veszprém–Balaton European Capital of Culture program, it has quickly become one of the region’s key cultural attractions. The gallery is based on the renowned Szöllősi-Nagy – Nemes Collection, featuring an extensive selection of fine art and photography. The collection focuses on modern and contemporary art, with a strong emphasis on international and Hungarian geometric and abstract works. After more than 30 years in Paris, the collection has returned to Hungary and found its permanent home in Balatonfüred. Housed in two restored 19th-century villa buildings connected by a modern architectural structure, the gallery combines historical elegance with contemporary design. In addition to exhibition spaces, the venue also includes community areas and cultural programs, creating a dynamic meeting point for art lovers. With its internationally significant collection and high-quality exhibitions, the Modern Art Gallery offers visitors a unique insight into geometric and conceptual art, making it a must-visit cultural stop in Balatonfüred.
